The Berkeley

CityPartners worked with the Tenants’ Association to preserve and convert the uninhabitable, fire-ravaged building into a 22 unit condominium building located in Columbia Heights, one of Washington’s hottest neighborhoods. The renovation was completed in Q3 2009 and sold out in Q1 2010. The Berkeley is a unique and complex project that offered affordable homeownership to all of the Tenant Association Members while providing luxury features most often associated with high-priced condos. 1440 Columbia Road was owned by the Tenant Association and was developed by CityPartners.  The Berkeley is located within walking distance of the Columbia Heights Metro Station.
